The national day of the Italian immigrant in Brazil

Today is the national day of the Italian immigrant in Brazil.

Did you know that Brazil is the country with the largest number of Italian descendants in the world? And that the largest Italian community is concentrated in the State of São Paulo, where I come from?

All this began in 1874, when many Italians left their lands, including my great-great-grandfather Francesco, to start a new life in Brazilian territory. They have been of crucial importance for the construction of this great nation that is Brazil. Italian influence is very strong even today, in art, architecture, music, food and many others …

The video was shot from the Terrazza Italia, in San Paolo, the top floor of an almost 170-meter skyscraper built in the 1950s on the initiative of the local Italian community.

Why am I talking about it? Because I am an immigrant too, but here in Italy. Despite being Italian-Brazilian, I lived in Brazil until 2012, when I decided to come to Italy. And here I stayed … My heart is split exactly in half 🇧🇷 🇮🇹, and Casa Pitanga is the result of this feeling and the desire to mix these two cultures.
Casa Pitanga, as well as Brazilian culture itself, is born from the fusion of different cultures, not only the Italian one, but from all those who have made Brazil their home. This melting pot has directly influenced our creativity.

Let’s celebrate multiculturalism! This shows that we are stronger together! All of us leave their contribution to the world in a unique way!
